Why not create your own family time capsule to mark the birth of your special child?  A time capsule preserves history and culture and can even link generations of families together.  It is a unique and thoughtful gift for your newborn.

We've put together some suggestions on how to design a time capsule that is appropriate for your family and new child.  Keep in mind that it is your "snapshot" of the day your child was born.  Make it personal, relevant and interesting.

Here are some items that you could include in your baby's time capsule: 

	coins, money
	stamps
	newspaper and/or news magazine from that day
	letter to your child (use acid-free paper if possible)
	tape that you recorded for your child
	family photos
	baby's first photos
	family tree or history

	Ask special relatives to contribute an item

What not to include:

leave out food, drinks or other liquids that could ruin the contents
